US Pacific Fleet announces 29th RIMPAC exercise

Approximately 29 nations, 40 surface ships, three submarines, 14 national land forces, over 150 aircraft and more than 25,000 personnel will participate in the biennial Rim of the Pacific (RIMPAC) exercise scheduled June 26 to Aug. 2, in and around the Hawaiian Islands.

Exercise Rim of the Pacific 2018 Concludes

The world’s largest international maritime exercise concluded today following more than a month of training events conducted in and around the Hawaiian Islands and Southern California.

VIDEO: Mock Patients Airlifted to Maui as Part of RIMPAC

The exercise involved the US Navy Seahawk helicopter transport of four mock patients from ‘Oahu to Maui. Upon landing at the MMMC helipad, the “patients” were taken to the MMMC Emergency Department where doctors and staff were standing by to treat them for their simulated injuries.

Maui Hospital to Participate in World’s Largest Maritime Exercise

The Maui Memorial Medical Center is the only neighbor island hospital participating in the exercise. It is also the first time that US hospitals are participating in the RIMPAC event.
