Wailuku-based Sae Design was one of the few Neighbor Island, woman-owned small businesses to be recognized at the 2016 American Advertising Federation Hawai‘i Pele Awards.

Central Pacific Financial Corp., parent company of Central Pacific Bank, recently announced the appointment of Wayne Kamitaki and Saedene Ota as directors of the boards of CPF and CPB. The appointments will increase the number of directors on both boards from nine to 11.

The judges, coaches and mentors who will be participating in the second “Startup Weekend Maui,” have been announced by the Maui Economic Development Board. This event will provide entrepreneurs with an opportunity to learn how to launch a company in 54 hours.
