Cameron King scored a game-high 26 points to lead Seabury Hall to a 58-55 victory over Damien in Thursday’s Division II quarterfinal action of the Hawaiian Airlines Boys Basketball Championships on Oahu.

Lahainaluna High School’s Hercules Mataafa pinned both his opponents Friday and remains one win from a possible rematch with Kamehameha-Kapalama’s Dane Pestano, the wrestler who denied the Maui Interscholastic League champion a state gold medal a year ago in the boys 215 pound weight class.

For the first time in school history, the Lahainaluna High School football team and its cheerleaders competed on Oahu, on the same day, in their respective state competitions.

Lahainaluna High School handled its business on Oahu like it has done all year on the Valley Isle — with a shutout, it’s seventh of the season.

The work that has helped produce the outstanding numbers that have come to define this particular Lahainaluna High School football team started a year ago.
