Emergency crews were called to the scene of Pōhaku Park “S-Turns” in Kahana following a report of an ocean goer in distress at around 1:55 p.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016.
Paddle Boarders Rescued, Caught in Trade Winds at Pōhaku Park
Firefighters and ocean safety personnel were called to assist a group of paddle boarders who reportedly became caught in a windline in waters offshore of Pōhau Park in West Maui at the spot often referred to as “S-Turns.”
