Ka Hale A Ke Ola’s medical respite program earns national certification
Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers, the Maui nonprofit that has provided emergency shelter and homeless services on the island for more than 40 years, is one of three Hawaiʻi organizations whose medical respite care programs have earned certification from the National Institute for Medical Respite Care, according to the organizations. It is the first time agencies in Hawaiʻi have received the designation.

The Hawaiʻi Community Foundation, through its Maui Strong Fund, has committed up to $8 million to help restore a vital emergency shelter and affordable housing facility in Lahaina, closing a critical funding gap for Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers Inc., one of the island’s longest-standing service providers for Maui’s unhoused.
New executive director begins work at Maui’s Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers
Ka Hale A Ke Ola Homeless Resource Centers’ nonprofit Board of Directors announced the appointment of Sue R. Sadecki as the nonprofit’s new executive director. Today, the agency welcomed Sadecki on her first day at work and held a blessing ceremony at its Wailuku shelter.
