Fuel deliveries beginning this month at Kansai International Airport will mark the first time Hawaiian Airlines has introduced sustainable aviation fuel – which can lower life-cycle carbon emissions by up to 80% compared to traditional jet fuel.

Hawaiian Airlines published its annual Corporate Kuleana Report highlighting Environmental, Social and Governance initiatives to fly and grow more sustainably.

Hawaiian Airlines and Par Hawaii, announced plans today to join forces to study the commercial viability of locally produced sustainable aviation fuels, to replace all or a percentage of traditional kerosene-based jet fuel with fuel that is made with sustainable feedstocks.  

The Biden-Harris Administration is taking critical steps to advance the use of cleaner and more sustainable fuels in American aviation by coordinating leadership and innovation across the federal government, aircraft manufacturers, airlines, fuel producers, airports and non-governmental organizations.
