#TOU rates

“Bill protection” credit to end July 31 for Shift and Save pilot program participants enrolled since February

The Shift and Save pilot, which incorporates time-of-use rates that are lower in the daytime when cheaper solar energy is abundant, went live in February with 16,000 homes and businesses on Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island. Customers enrolled since February must decide whether they will continue beyond the six-month bill protection period.

Hawaiian Electric offers Maui County customers voluntary enrollment in time-of-use rates

The program tests time-of-use rates and is intended to reduce bills for customers and cut greenhouse gas emissions.

New ‘Shift and Save’ pilot, launches Feb. 1 for 16,000 customers on Oʻahu, Hawaiʻi Island

Hawaiian Electric has expanded the Shift and Save pilot program on Oʻahu and Hawaiʻi Island to 16,000 participants who will test new time-of-use or TOU rates starting Feb. 1.  Commencement of the study on Maui is temporarily suspended; however, eligible Maui, Lānaʻi and Molokaʻi customers may voluntarily enroll in the TOU rates.
