Reports of Tsunami Damage Scarce in Maui County

A single Molokai resident informed county authorities that waves pushed a picnic table into the road in Honouliwai, and also washed up debris into the yards of residents.

Mayor Arakawa said all in all, Maui was able to return to business fairly quickly. He pointed out some areas that could be improved, and thanked the community for their cooperation during the emergency response.

Tsunami Damage and Road Closures Update

Maui is still to officially hear the ‘all-clear’ from the County, however the situation appears to have stabilized. Other Hawaiian islands, including Oahu, have been given the ‘all-clear.’
