Promoter Bob Peyton, who booked the now-canceled Stevie Wonder concert, told a Honolulu television station late Friday afternoon that the University of Hawaii’s deposit money has been located, although verification of the transaction remains unofficial.

The bungling of a benefit concert that was promoted as featuring Stevie Wonder may cost University of Hawaii athletic director Jim Donovan his job.

The University of Hawai’i announced Tuesday it has canceled its planned Aug. 18 Stevie Wonder benefit concert at the Stan Sheriff Center because it was not authorized by the star to hold the event.
