Former Gov. Neil Abercrombie among interim appointees to the UH Board of Regents

Former Governor Neil Abercrombie, Attorney Lauren Akitake (born and raised on Maui), and Global Resiliency Hub CEO Alapaki Nahale-a will fill seats for the term beginning July 1, 2023 for five-year appointments, subject to confirmation by the Hawai‘i State Senate.

UH Responds to DLNR Independent Review of Maunakea Land Management

The University of Hawaiʻi received the Hawaiʻi State Department of Land of Natural Resources’ independent review of the implementation of the Mauna Kea Comprehensive Management Plan. The university acknowledged that the issues surrounding Maunakea are contentious and challenging and that the review will help support and inform its ongoing efforts.

Mizuno Appointed to Fill UH Board of Regents Vacancy

Mizuno will serve as interim regent pending confirmation by the full Senate next session. The Senate successfully confirmed the Governor’s earlier appointments of Coralie Matayoshi, Saedene Ota, and Jan Sullivan.
