#UH scholarship

For most of his life, Troy Branco-Liu never imagined leaving Lahaina. However, after the 2023 Maui wildfire upended his community, and a University of Hawaiʻi scholarship opened a door he never expected, the Lahainaluna High School graduate found himself starting over at Hawaiʻi Community College—pursuing an education that would ultimately change the course of his future.

The HPM Foundation has made a five-year pledge totaling $100,000 to the University of Hawai‘i Foundation to provide college scholarships for students enrolled at University of Hawai‘i campuses across the state.

Two-year and four-year scholarships to the University of Hawaiʻi are now available to Lahainaluna High School seniors, thanks to an anonymous philanthropist. The donor agreed to fund the scholarship extensions to two years for any UH community college or four years for any UH university.
