Upcountry Strong Distributes 20 Tons of Food, Offers a Shining Moment in a Dark Time

Megan Nakashima is the president of Pukalani Superette and she is also among a group of generous and determined participants of what is now called Upcountry Strong, a partnership of individuals, businesses and not-for-profits that answered the need for food donations Upcountry during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Food Distribution for Pā‘ia and Ha‘ikū residents on Thursday, April 23

Maui Mayor Michael Victorino announced that a food distribution will take place on Thursday, April 23, to provide bags of food to individuals in need that are impacted by COVID-19 in Pāʻia and Haʻikū. To date more than 2,000 bags of food and produce have been distributed to residents at distribution events across Maui County.

Food Distribution to Upcountry Residents in Need

HAPPENING AT NOON: A food distribution event at the Pukalani Pool parking lot starts at noon today. Upcountry residents can get food if they need starting at 12 p.m. They’ll be handing out food until it’s gone.
