Shaft at ‘Ualapu‘e, Moloka‘i Tests Positive for E. Coli
Water from the ʻUalapuʻe system is safe to drink as the water has been disinfected and no E. coli bacteria have been found in the distribution system itself.
All Clear: Re-sampling at ‘Ualapu‘e Meets Federal Standards
A re-sampling confirms that water at the ‘Ualapu‘e facility on Moloka‘i meets Federal EPA standards and no longer contains any trace of E. coli bacteria.
Water Quality Violation on Moloka‘i
E. coli bacteria was detected in the shaft itself, and not in the distribution system, so the water remains absolutely safe for residents to use and drink.
