The county department of transportation will begin offering a new $2 daily bus pass for fixed routes and ADA paratransit services beginning in the New Year.  The daily pass was created at the request of Mayor Charmaine Tavares as a way to offer a cost effective option for those who ride the bus only a few days each month.

Passes can be purchased from all Maui Bus drivers only, beginning on January 2, 2011, and cannot be used on commuter routes.  The pass is valid only on the day it is purchased and is good for unlimited travel on that day.  The County will not replace or refund lost, stolen, destroyed or misplaced passes.

The County’s Maui Bus service is operated by Roberts Hawaii. Bus schedules and further information is available online at: www.mauicounty.gov/bus.
