2 Hilo Women Arrested on Drug Charges related to ICE

Big Island police arrested two Hilo women on Wednesday, February 2, 2011 for drug related offenses. Authorities recovered more than 5 grams of ice, a digital scale and other paraphernalia while executing a search warrant on Dawn Delatorre-Gannon in the parking lot of a Hilo shopping center.

Delatorre-Gannon, 28 was charged with first-degree attempted methamphetamine trafficking, second-degree promotion of a dangerous drug, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was being held in lieu of $305,000 bail.

Police also recovered an additional 0.4 grams of the drug in the pickup truck in which she was sitting with Jacqueline “Jackie” Markham.

Markham, 46, was charged with third degree promotion as was being held on $4,000 bail.

Both women were unable to post bail and made their initial appearance in South Hilo District Court on Thursday afternoon.

The Big Island Police Department has set up a 24-hour ice hotline for the public to provide anonymous information about ice and other illegal drugs. The hotline numbers are:

  • Kona: 329-“ZERO-ICE” (329-0423)
  • Hilo: 934-“VICE” (934-8423)
