Playing against some of the nation’s top teams in their age division, the Maui United Soccer Club 99 Red went 0-for-3 over the weekend in the prestigious San Diego Surf Cup.

Maui United opened with a 2-1 loss against nationally second-ranked PAC Atlas of San Jose, dropped a 1-0 decision to 14th-ranked Cosmos Academy West and closed group play with a 2-0 loss against tournament host San Diego Surf White.

This week, the MUSC 94 girls will open their bid as the Surf Cup continues with older age divisions.  Maui United, the reigning state champion, will begin play in the under-18 division with group matches against CZ Elite of Southern California, the Glouscester Hornets of Ontario, Canada, and the Sting West of North Texas.
