Maui Panel Focuses on Fall Prevention

The Maui County Office on Aging, Disability Resource Center will feature a panel on Fall Prevention at its monthly meeting set for today.

Panel members will focus on heightening community awareness of the devastating nature of falls on older adults, and provide practical insight on fall prevention.

The session runs from 1 to 3 p.m., Tuesday, August 23, at the Hale Mahaolu Elima Community room in Kahului.

Panel members will include, Ted Anderson of Venture Physical Therapy; Jo Reyes, of Maui County Office on Aging; Elizabeth Tomoso, Occupational Therapist; and Mary Anne Ackers of Hale Makua.

The session comes as the county prepares for National Falls Prevention Awareness Day on September 23, 2011.
