“We’ve seen the incredible impact our unique service has made on our residential and business clients,” said Jean Wall, co-owner/interior designer at Designer for a Day, in a written statement.

“We understand how important this could be for our non-profit groups and are proud to introduce the inaugural Designer for a Dream project.”

Because Designer for a Day offers online design service by reviewing photos and providing a detailed consultation, neighbor island non-profits are also encouraged to apply.

Here’s how Designer for a Dream works:

  • Interested non-profit groups should send the following information to Designer for a Day via www.designerforadayhawaii.com: 1) name, 2) mission, 3) groups served, 4) photos (JPEG format) of desired makeover space and 5) short paragraph (less than 150 words) of how Designer for a Dream would make a difference.
  • The deadline for submissions is Friday, February 3, 2012.
  • Four selected non-profit groups will be contacted by Wednesday, February 29. One group will receive an afternoon design service makeover ($750 value) and three groups (including one neighbor island community group) will receive a detailed consultation ($400 value) via www.designerforadayhawaii.com.

“If you know a non-profit group that would benefit from Designer for a Dream, please submit a nomination or encourage the organization to contact us,” added Joan Robinson-Whitaker, co-owner/designer, Designer for a Day. “We’re very excited to offer this service to our non-profits that do so much for the community.”
