Maui Democrats Host Event in Honor of Inouye

The Maui County Committee of the Democratic Party of Hawaiʻi says it will honor the late US Senator Daniel K. Inouye during a special event planned for Saturday, Sept. 21 in Kīhei.

Event organizers say “Tsukimi, A Moon Viewing Party” features an elegant five course Asian-fusion dinner and entertainment provided by Halemanu and the Hui.

The event is to be held at Kono’s on the Green, located at the Elleair Golf Course in South Maui.

Lt. Governor Shan Tsutsui serves as the evening’s keynote speaker and former Inouye Chief of Staff Jennifer Sabas will speak about the senator and the Inouye Legacy Foundation.

The event also features a silent auction of a yukata kimono, geta, ceramic ware, art and certificates.
