A Maui woman who was named among Hawaii’s Top Five Social Media Influencers in 2013 by Hawaii Tech Events, is now the new interactive media strategist at Wailea Realty Corp. on Maui.

Liza Pierce, who launched her popular A Maui Blog in 2006, was hired by the real estate company to oversee development and coordination of the Wailea Realty’s digital efforts, focusing on consumer interaction and connectivity, according to a company announcement.

“I will also be launching a powerful new website in a few months,” said Pierce in a press release statement. “It will be interactive and SEO-optimized, and there will also be an active engagement in Facebook, Twitter and other social media channels.”

As part of her new role, Pierce will also train agents in the efficient and proactive use of social media, as well as how to leverage new technologies, the announcement said.

In addition to her blogging background, Pierce is also the founder of the Maui Bloggers Network, co-founder of the Maui Social Media Users Group, and is a 20 year resident of Maui.
