Dear Editor:
We just had a wonderful dinner at the Hula Grill in Whaler’s Village last night. What made it even more enjoyable was the entertainment. LIVE HAWAIIAN MUSIC. Not jazz music or any other kind we can hear at numerous hotels here in Hawaiʻi – but Hawaiian music.
That’s what we came for – its part of the ambiance. We can get access many genres of music where we live, but not real Hawaiian Music, it’s a disappointment to come to the islands and then get a diet of music we already have.
No, we are not in our vintage years and don’t play Hawaiian music at home like my mom does. But we like it, especially when we come to the islands.
Kudos to the Hula Grill in Kāʻanapali for bucking the trend and keeping it Hawaiian.
Mahalo,
