Mostly sunny skies are expected today for leeward areas. In the afternoon as daytime heating takes hold clouds will start to build and isolated showers are possible. Windward and mauka spots can expect the usual scattered trade wind showers and partly cloudy skies. Some haze is expected today. High temperatures should fall in the range of 80° to 85° with highs from 67 – 70° at 5000 feet. Variable winds up to 15 mph are forecasted.

Tonight we expect isolated showers and partly to mostly cloudy skies. Variable winds up to 15 mph are forecasted becoming west from 10 – 15 mph after midnight. Low temperatures should fall in the range of 69° to 74° with a low of about 53° at 5000 feet.

Looking Ahead
Winds ahead of an approaching front will become light and variable and a diurnal land / sea breeze weather pattern will set up. Moderate rainfall and stiff north winds are expected as the front pushes down the island chain. Expected arrival time for Maui County is early Monday. Behind the front, cooler temperatures and dry conditions are forecasted. By Wednesday we expect a return to more typical trade wind weather.
