Vacation rental properties in Wailea and Kāʻanapali on Maui were ranked among the top 10 in the nation according to traveler reviews compiled by TripAdvisor for 2014.
The travel website ranked Wailea sixth, and Kāʻanapali eighth on a list that also included Waikoloa and Volcano on Hawaiʻi Island at number 7 and 10 respectively.
The publication noted that both Maui locations earned an average 95% in the review and attributed the positive response to the locations’ luxurious beach front, seaside villas, and penthouse condos.
The website is home to 650,000 vacation rentals around the world.
The publication has a total of 190 rentals listed for Wailea on their site, ranging in price from $115 per night for a private studio at the award-winning Wailea Grand Champions Villas to $35,000 per week for the “Sea Pearl Estate” which features seven bedrooms and six baths, and sleeps up to 14 people.
In the Kāʻanapali area, TripAdvisor had a total of 296 rentals listed, ranging in price from $105 per night for a two bedroom, one bath condo at the Honokōwai Palms to $8,000 per night to stay at the “Black Rock Estate” which features eight bedrooms, nine baths, and sleeps up to 16 people.
