Anthony Bourdain’s episode of his show “Parts Unknown” that he filmed in Maui County earlier this year, is set to air on June 14, 2015 on CNN. The fifth season of the television food series began in April and continues through late June, 2015.
According to a CNN blog post, the Hawaiʻi episode includes a meeting with talent manager Shep Gordon and an oceanside meal at one of Molokaʻi’s ancient fishponds.
The blog post states that Bourdain “explores the other Hawaiʻi,” that many tourists miss when they travel to the islands.
In February, Bourdain posted photos of macaroni-potato salad on his Twitter feed; and chicken katsu with two scoops of rice and a Bikini Blonde Lager that was taken during his stay on Maui.
Maui’s own Sheldon Simeon, the executive chef at Mala Wailea and Migrant Maui restaurants Tweeted that he was, “blessed and honored to share some food with @bourdain.” He also hash-tagged the Parts Unknown program saying they made a quick stop at Grandma’s Coffee House in Kula before starting their adventure.
Mixed martial arts fighter Nissen Osterneck also Tweeted a photo with Bourdain at Maui Jiu Jitsu during his visit.
