North: Wave heights are expected head high to well overhead early in the day. The best breaks could get up to double overhead on the sets in the morning. Trade swell will also mix in at about shoulder/head high.
West: Wave heights are waist/chest high out of the northwest and knee/waist high out of the south-southwest.
South: Wave heights are knee/waist high today out of the south-southwest. Trade swell will be on the way down today.
Our current northwest swell is forecast to ease through midweek. A new west-northwest / northwest swell is expected to build overnight Wednesday and peak late Thursday. A larger swell is expected to arrive January 4 – 6.
Overhead trade swell is expected to gradually fade.
Our current south-southwest is expected to fade Tuesday. New south-southwest fills in Wednesday and Thursday.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
