North: Wave heights are expected waist high to start today. The best breaks could get up to head high / well overhead on the sets by mid-day and well overhead by sunset.
West: Wave heights are ankle/knee high today with occasional thigh/waist high sets at the best breaks. Exposures open to the new west-northwest / northwest could get up to waist/shoulder high late in the day.
South: Wave heights are knee/waist high today out of the south-southwest. Trade swell will be on the way down today.
A new west-northwest / northwest swell is expected to build rapidly Thursday, peaking in the afternoon and holding through Friday. Reinforcing swell is expected to fill in for the 2nd and 3rd out of the west-northwest / northwest.
Trade swell is expected to continue to gradually fade.
Our current south-southwest brings small but rideable waves through Thursday.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
