Swell Fading Today, New Swell for Weekend

A Small Craft Advisory is in effect for all Maui County windward waters and channels through 6 p.m. Friday.
A High Surf Warning is posted for the north and west sides of Molokai and the north shore of Maui through 6 a.m. Friday. This warning will likely be replaced by a High Surf Advisory some time today.

Maui Surf Forecast
North: Wave heights are slowly trending down all day with surf expected to be double to triple overhead with 18 to 20 foot waves at the best spots in the morning.
West: Wrap from the northwest swell affecting some western shores today will slowly fade. Spots with northern exposure could get double to triple overhead on the sets.
South: Wave heights are knee/thigh high today out of the south-southwest.
Our current swell is expected to slowly trend down today. Saturday just small leftovers are forecast for northwest exposures. This swell is expected to fade through the weekend.
A good sized west-northwest is due in late on Valentine’s Day.
Our current southwest swell continues to fade Friday. A small new south-southwest is expected to fill in and peak on Saturday.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
