Maui Officer Arrested for Violating a Warning Citation

A Maui police officer was arrested on Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2016 for violating a warning citation.

Carlos, Frate, 31, of Kīhei, was arrested and charged for violating a warning citation, which was issued as a result of an investigation into a case involving alleged abuse of a family or household member, according to department reports.

Frate was arrested at 3:22 p.m. on Tuesday and was released after posting $1,000 bail.

Police say Frate is a sworn officer of the Maui Police Department, with over five years of service.  He is currently assigned to the Kīhei Patrol District.

Police say he is now assigned to desk duties.
