Maui Surf Forecast
North: Wave heights are expected to be around chest/head high to overhead for spots catching the trade swell.
West: Surf is chest/head high and up to overhead today out of the southwest. Spots from Kihei to around Olowalu/Lahaina will be smaller due to shadowing from the other islands.
South: Surf is chest/head high today with the best breaks getting overhead on the sets.
A reinforcement out of the south is expected to keep the swell from fading too quickly. This is forecast to move in Tuesday and Wednesday and maintain wave heights along southern exposures before fading through the second half of the week.
Our current weak northwest swell energy will ease and drop out on Tuesday. Otherwise, quiet in the North Pacific at this time with nothing of note generating swell energy for the foreseeable future.
Keep in mind, surf heights are measured on the face of the wave from trough to crest. Heights vary from beach to beach, and at the same beach, from break to break.
