On June 9, 2016 the Sacramento Superior and Municipal Court issued a $3,000,000 arrest warrant for Miller; however authorities determined Miller had already fled Sacramento to Honolulu before the issuance of the warrant.

Authorities say Miller has an extensive criminal history that includes lewd and lascivious acts with a minor by force, battery, assault with a deadly weapon, strong arm robbery, resisting law enforcement, assault with a firearm, assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer, escape, child cruelty, kidnapping with violence, narcotics possession, and extortion.

On June 23, 2016 just after 7 pm, US Marshals, HPD officers, and FBI agents tracked Miller to the Wal-Mart on Keʻeaumoku Street and located Miller within a vehicle on the first level of the Wal-Mart parking structure.

As a result of Miller’s extensive and violent criminal history, surveillance was initiated to ensure Miller would be taken into custody safely and without any danger to the public within the Wal-Mart parking structure area.

Once officers determined the least amount of pedestrian traffic and moving vehicles in the area of Miller’s vehicle, they moved in and swarmed the vehicle containing Miller.

During the arrest Miller resisted, but soon complied once he saw the presence of all the officers. Miller was taken into custody without further incident.
