Georgia Kidnapping Fugitive Arrested in Honolulu
US Marshals and Honolulu Police located and arrested 31 year-old Willie Alfred Green of Woodstock, Georgia on Friday, Aug. 12, 2016.
Green was wanted by the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia on an arrest warrant for aggravated stalking, false imprisonment, burglary, criminal trespass, and obstruction stemming from a domestic dispute.
Green was on bond from custody pending disposition of the above charges while being monitored by a GPS ankle bracelet.
On or about July 1, 2016, authorities say Green cut off his GPS ankle bracelet and fled the state of Georgia. According to Justice officials, Green grabbed his three kids, ages one, seven, and eight before going on the run, and disappeared.
Since Green did not have permission to take the children, a missing person’s case was filed for each of the three kids. The US Marshals Task Force in Georgia tracked Green to Hawaiʻi and notified U.S. Marshals in Honolulu.
US Marshals and HPD officers tracked Green to a residence located at the Makaha Surfside in Waiʻanae on Aug. 12, 2016 at approximately 12:30 p.m. Green was taken into custody without incident and all three missing children were recovered in the residence. US Marshals turned the missing children over to child protective services and Honolulu police.
Green was transported and booked into the Honolulu Police Department Central Receiving pending a court appearance and extradition hearing back to Georgia.
