Keokea Farmers Market Hosts Compost Tea Workshop

The Keokea Farmers Market will host a “tea party” with Michael Marchand and Devin Fredericksen from Lapa‘au Farm of Olinda. They will discuss compost tea-making and other natural-farming techniques.

The presentation will take place this Saturday, Sept. 30 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Keokea nursery site, next door to Grandma’s Coffee House.

This event is part of an ongoing mini lecture series on farming and ranching at the Keokea Farmers Market, which occurs on the second and last Saturdays of the month from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Future presenters include Stacey Casco on Oct. 14. She will discuss mo`oku`auhau (genealogy). On Oct. 28, Kekoa Enomoto will discuss the makahiki (season of Lono) and lunar planting in 2018.
