Anonymous $76K Donation Sustains Partial Services at Hawai‘i Volcanoes NP

Friends of Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park received an anonymous donation of $76,320. That’s in addition to the $38,160 from the County of Hawaiʻi allocated to keep Hawaiʻi Volcanoes National Park open with limited services.

Organization leaders say the combined total of $114,480 covers approximately nine days of partial service.

The organization’s executive director, Elizabeth Fien said the group is grateful to Mayor Harry Kim for his support and for the anonymous donation received, saying it’s wonderful to know that so many care for Hawaiʻi’s public lands.  “It is wonderful to know that so many care for our public lands,” said Fien.
