Blue Jay Wireless Offers Cell Phones, Service to Disadvantaged on Maui

Blue Jay Wireless, a pre-paid wireless telcom company, will host an enrollment event today, Friday, Nov. 13, 2015 at the Hale Makana O Waiale facility in Wailuku.

The company provides cell phones to disadvantaged and disabled lower-income residents, and offers free and subsidized wireless service for eligible subscribers through the Lifeline low-income assistance program.

To kick-off its expanded presence on Maui, Blue Jay Wireless, is hosting the pop-up enrollment event to sign-up potential qualified Maui residents for wireless service.

Since 2013, Blue Jay Wireless has provided more than 30,000 qualified Hawaii residents with basic wireless service.

The program is open to eligible households that meet certain requirements, which typically include participation in a state or federal assistance program, or at an income level at or below 135% of the Federal Poverty Guidelines.

Enrollment will take place between noon and 4 p.m. at Hale Makana O Waiale, located at 195 Waimaluhia Lane in Wailuku.
