Fatality Reported in Haleakalā Highway Collision
Today at approximately 12:24 p.m., a vehicle collision occurred on Haleakalā Highway .6 miles north of Palena Place in Kula.
UPDATE: Visitors “Lucky to Survive” 250-Ft Drop off Crater Road
Chief Ranger James Mar said, “They were incredibly lucky to survive a drop of over 250 feet down the side of a volcano.” Park officials say the vehicle was “downward-bound” when the incident occurred.
