Ka’apuni Update Day 1: 20 Hours into Walk, Saturday 2/21/09 8 p.m.

The torch lit procession for unity in the Native Hawaiian Community is rounding out its first full day of walking. The journey started at Moku’ula in Lahaina at midnight on Friday and by 7 o’clock tonight was exiting the West Maui Mountains.

Ka’apuni Updates

A torch-lit spiritual journey organized to bring enlightenment and unify those in the native Hawaiian community, begins tonight in West Maui. The 193-mile Ka’apuni or circuit will be preceded by a protocol ceremony at 11 p.m. led by Kapono’ai Molitau.

A group of Native Hawaiians have planned a spiritual journey to encircle the island of Maui. The 193-mile trek begins Friday night and is expected to take six days to complete.
