Hawaiʻi County police officer enters plea in evidence tampering case

The charges stemmed from an unconstitutional search of an arrestee’s belongings inside the Hilo Police Station. Serrao later made false statements about the unconstitutional search to a presiding judge in an Application for Judicial Determination of Probable Cause for Warrantless Arrest and for the Extended Restraint of Liberty of Warrantless Arrestee.

Man Reported Missing, Arrested in Attempted Shoplifting

Thomas Gatlin III, 36, was arrested on Monday for second degree robbery, resisting arrest and second degree assault against a police officer.

6 Maui Burglaries Reported Feb. 5 to 11, 2012

Maui police responded to 6 residential burglaries over a seven day period, between February 5 and 15, 2012. The incidents included two burglaries in Kahului, and one incident each in Haiku, Paia, Spreckesville, and Wailuku.
