The Polynesian Voyaging Society and Puʻuhonua Society announce “E Ola Mau Hōkūleʻa – Half a Century of Voyaging,” an art exhibition honoring the 50th anniversary of the legendary voyaging canoe Hōkūleʻa.

A blessing and public unveiling will be held on Friday, June 27, for three new murals installed across the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College campus.

Produced by Maui Public Art Corps in collaboration with the County of Maui and kumu hula Sissy Lake-Farm of Hālau Makana Aloha O Ka Lauaʻe, the piece is one of three large-scale murals being unveiled in June through the Hui Mo‘olelo program, which pairs professional artists with community members to create place-based public art.

Maui Public Art Corps, in collaboration with the Maui Historical Society, the County of Maui and University of Hawaiʻi Foundation, has announced a new series of three large-scale murals at the University of Hawaiʻi Maui College.

This August, the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts (SFCA) will hold strategic planning sessions across Hawai’i to gather diverse insights to help shape the agency’s initiatives and priorities.

A 2,000-foot mural of a plumeria lei can now be seen encircling the Hawai‘i State Capitol building on O‘ahu. The unveiling of the “He Lei Ho‘okipa” took place on Tuesday, to welcome and honor participants of the 13th Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture (FestPAC). The mural serves as a visual message of aloha, extending a warm welcome to the 27 Pacific nation delegations of FestPAC.

As April marks National Child Abuse Prevention Month, the Hoʻoikaika Partnership is excited to host the 4th annual ‘Ohana Fest “Journey to Make Pono” on Saturday, April 6, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Maui Nui Botanical Gardens. This event is designed for families who are eligible for services offered by partner agencies. The event includes activities, community resources, music and giveaways.

Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Schaefer International Gallery presents ‘Ike Kanaka, an invitational exhibition featuring new work by ten Kanaka ʻŌiwi artists from Hawai‘i nei pae ʻāina and the continental US.

The Story of Everything, a theater performance written and conceived by Hawai’i Poet Laureate Kealoha, and now a film will be shown at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Nov. 19.

The gallery features a photography collection that celebrates the successes achieved and comes as marine monuments come under review by the Trump administration.
