Authorities are again seeking the public’s help in locating Earl Kekuanaʻoʻa Hind, a fisherman who disappeared about a year ago after launching his boat from South Point on the Big Island.

The US Coast Guard Cutter Oliver Henry has returned to Guam after a 29-day mission in the western Pacific, enhancing tsunami warning capabilities and delivering essential humanitarian aid.

Crew members of an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter successfully completed the hoist of the cargo ship crew member at 5:47 a.m. June 26 and transported the 26-year-old man to Līhuʻe Airport, where emergency medical services transferred him to Wilcox Medical Center for further treatment.

The woman is reportedly in stable condition after a Coast Guard crew and two Kaua‘i firefighters located and recovered her from the bay 500 yards from shore.

For the second time, the US Coast Guard has awarded Matson Navigation Company the 2012 Rear Admiral William M. Benkert Award for Environmental Excellence.
