Hawaiian Electric Industries, Inc. (HEI) this week reported net income for the full year of 2011 was $138.2 million, up from $113.5 million for 2010.

Yesterday, Sempra Generation, a subsidiary of Sempra Energy, announced that it has entered into a 20-year contract to sell 21 megawatts (MW) of wind energy to Maui Electric Company from the Auwahi Wind project on the Ulupalakua Ranch.
