Molokai residents will be updated on the status of the stateâ€™s health drug prescription program.Â Kimberly Svetin, the president of Molokai Drugs, Inc., will be the guest at the upcoming meeting of the Governorâ€™s Council of Neighbor Island Advisors for Molokaâ€˜i.
There, she will provide an update on the status of state Employer-Union Health Benefits Trust Fund issues and how they impact residents of Molokai.
The meeting is set for 3 p.m., Tuesday, January 12, 2010, at the Kulana â€˜Oiwi, DHHL / OHA Conference Room, 600 Maunaloa Highway, Kaunakakai. Â The public is invited to attend.
Governor Linda Lingle created councils of advisors to give neighbor islands a stronger voice in state government. The council of neighbor island advisors holds monthly public meetings to seek community input and advise the Governor of important issues on Molokaâ€˜i. Â The council also identifies and recommends potential nominees for state boards and commissions.
The members of the Governorâ€™s Council of Neighbor Island Advisors for Molokaâ€˜i are Robert Granger, Janice Kalanihuia, Jersula Manaba, Marlene Purdy and James Feeter.
