This Special Report was covered live in a six station simulcast on Pacific Radio Group. The interview initially aired at 3:45 a.m. on Saturday, February 27, 2010 and featured details about tsunami preparations from Maui County Civil Defense Administrator, Gen Iinuma. The interview was conducted by Pacific Radio Group News Director, Wendy Osher.

[flashvideo file=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b7pf-tkNg5A /] Special Reports on Pacific Radio Group began airing on Friday, February 26 when a Tsunami Advisory was issued following an 8.8 earthquake off the coast of Chile.

When the Advisory was upgraded to a Warning at 12:46 a.m. early on Saturday, the PRG news department began blanketing the airwaves with advisories airing every 10 to 15 minutes on six stations.

At 5:30 a.m. Pacific Radio Group transitioned into a six station simulcast with wall-to-wall coverage. The program was co-hosted by KPOA 93.5 FM Program Director Alaka’i Paleka and Fox News 900 Program Director Fred Guzman with support and coordination by Pacific Radio Group News Director, Wendy Osher. The company dedicated eight and a half hours to uninterrupted local coverage of the tsunami events.

The program aired on KPOA 93.5 FM, KJMD 98.3 FM, Native 92.5 FM, KISS FM Maui, Fox News 900 AM, and ESPN 550 AM.
