The merchants of Old Wailuku Town mark the closing of the Makahiki season with a First Friday event on March 5, 2010 on Market Street.

The ‘O Lono ‘Oe event is part of the monthly festivities that takes place on the First Friday of each month, featuring live music, local food, art, jewelry and fashion.

Featured activities for March 5 include a Pa’i ‘Ai (Taro Pounding) competition hosted by Native Intelligence; an Aloha Slam at 8 p.m. at Gallerie Ha; the Mobius Project Band fronting Maui Thing; Brisket Sliders from the Maui Cattle Co.; a Zumba Dance Party; the Maui Thing Surf Team 2010; Habitat for Humanity at the Banyan Tree Park; and Kamehameha School with a free performance at 9 p.m.

The event will result in the closure of Market Street.  Come down and support the local community and businesses.
