Maalaea Brush Fire Extinguished

The Honoapiilani highway is now completely open.  A portion of the road was temporarily restricted to alternating traffic earlier today in Maalaea because of a brush fire.  The fire was first reported at around 10:30 a.m., and was extinguished by around noon.  The road has since been re-opened in both directions.

Fire crews are on the scene of a brush fire in Maalaea reported at around 10:30 this morning. The fire was located near Mile Post 7 on the mauka side of the Honoapiilani Highway.  Maui Police were alternating traffic at last report.  There is no estimated time on when the road will be completely open.
