The wreckage of a 1998 Jeep multipurpose vehicle was found at the base of a cliff at Ukumehame on Maui.  Authorities say the driver of the vehicle was ejected and died at the scene.  The man has since been identified as 30-year-old Christian V. Jensen of Kihei.

According to police reports, the accident occurred between 1 a.m. and 7 a.m. on Monday, April 20, 2010, but the crash scene was not located until Tuesday, April 21, 2010 at around 10 a.m.

Jensen was the lone operator of the vehicle.  Police reports indicate the vehicle was headed in the Maalaea direction when it traveled off the roadway, colliding with an embankment and the guardrail before traveling off the edge of the cliff to the rocky shoreline below.
