Vehicle collides with pole on Baldwin Ave – Road now OPEN

A vehicle collided with a telephone pole overnight causing 3 telephones poles to collapse. Hawaiian Telcom continues to work in the area, however Baldwin Ave is open and police Officers are monitoring traffic.

Baldwin Avenue in Upcountry, Maui remains closed this morning.  The road closure began at 8:30 last night following a motor vehicle accident.  The vehicle collided with a telephone pole causing three poles to collapse.  Baldwin Avenue is closed in both directions between Kaluanui Rd and Hui No’eau Visual Art Center.  The estimated time for the road reopening has not been determined.  Motorists in the area should plan alternate routes.
