Power restored to Kahului after flashover

Maui Electric crews restored power to an estimated 1,400 customers in Kahului. The outage was first reported at 9:17 a.m. and lasted for about 50 minutes. It was caused by a flashover that occurred on Dairy Road. Areas affected included the Maui Market Place, Wal-Mart, Home Depot, parts of the Maui Lani Subdivision and Kahului Industrial Park.
