Statistics from the State Labor Department indicate that Hawaii’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate was 6.9% in March—remaining unchanged for a third consecutive month.  The non-seasonally adjusted rate for Maui County was 8.9%.

Event organizer Charly Espina Takahama of Pacific Radio Group said the May Job fair traditionally provides an opportunity for businesses to find qualified summer hires, and for potential employees to gain exposure to the variety of jobs available.

Saturday’s Kahului job fair is the first of two that Pacific Radio Group and the Queen Kaahumanu Center sponsors each year.  The first is designed to find summer hires; the second one is for holiday hires.
