MECO to discuss South Maui electrical line extension project

Maui Electric Company will host a community meeting tonight to provide information on a proposed electrical line extension project in South Maui.  The meeting will include a presentation on the project from representatives at Maui Electric and planning consultants with the firm Munekiyo & Hiraga, Inc.

Company officials will discuss alternative routes for the new 69 kV transmission line between Maalaea Power Plant and South Kihei.

The meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, August 12, 2010 at the Kihei Elementary School Cafeteria located at 250 Lipoa Street, in Kihei. The public is welcome to attend and provide comments.
