Haleakala National Park takes extra precautions against fire dangers

Dry weather on Maui has Haleakala National Park officials taking extra precautions.  Due to high fire dangers, rangers at Haleakala National Park are discouraging any open fires at the Hosmer Grove Campground until further notice.  Visitors are being educated about the current fire dangers caused by Maui’s prolonged drought and are asked to cook their food on self-contained stoves or NPS designated grills.
